Who We Are
Action Transformation Organization (ATO) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Kenya.
Established in 2023 after evolving from a grassroots community-based initiative, ATO is committed to driving humanitarian and development efforts that uplift vulnerable communities. Our head office is located in Nakuru, but our work extends far beyond—reaching marginalized areas such as Marsabit, Baringo, Mandera, and Samburu.
What We Do
Food Security
We work to ensure that vulnerable households have consistent access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food through emergency food aid, sustainable farming practices, and community-led agricultural initiatives.
Environmental Conservation
From tree planting to land restoration, we champion the conservation of natural resources and promote eco-friendly practices to combat desertification and build climate resilience in arid and semi-arid areas.
Health & Nutrition
We deliver essential health services, maternal and child nutrition support, and disease prevention interventions that improve health outcomes and save lives in underserved regions.
Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
Access to clean water, improved sanitation, and hygiene services is essential for human dignity, health, and development.
Emergency Preparedness & Response
In the face of drought, conflict, or displacement, our emergency response programs provide immediate life-saving aid including food, water, shelter, and medical care to those most affected.
Peace Building
We engage communities in dialogue, conflict resolution, and social cohesion initiatives that promote peaceful coexistence and long-term stability in historically fragile areas.
Livelihoods & Economic Empowerment
Supporting skills training, small business development, and income-generating activities to uplift communities and break the cycle of poverty.
Our Mandate
Our mission began in Mandera County with the urgent need to provide life-saving humanitarian support. Today, we continue to grow—responding to crises, building resilience, and championing justice for Kenya’s most underserved populations.
Whether working independently or in partnership, our interventions are always community-driven, evidence-based, and impactful.
